I am a woodworker based in northern Virginia. My work is focused on individual pieces made by hand using east coast native lumber. Shortly after being introduced to the work of Tage Frid and George Nakashima, I bought my first tools to begin designing and building for myself. My aim is to showcase and respect carefully chosen materials, build with traditional joinery and techniques, and aspire to the Shaker adage of “make it first functional - but once you have done that, do not hesitate to make it beautiful.”

Commissions are accepted on a situational basis. A degree of fluidity is required; I require some room to improvise around what each piece of wood presents in terms of opportunity as well as challenge. Each piece is unique - while I may at times build variations of a theme, the particulars will always be informed by the individual characteristics of the materials and the setting the piece is intended for.
